decreasing using slow method

I am looking at the chart for using the slow method and I feel so dumb. Must be pred brain😉

I am at 14&1/2 mg for 1 day

Next 6 days I am at 15 mg

Next is 1 day at 14 mg and 5 days at old dose. Is the old dose 15 mg or is the old dose 14&1/2 mg?

thank you for replying

I am guessing the old dose is the 14&1/2?

😳

Actually you have confused me too!

Are you at the START of a reduction? You are currently on 15mg per day and are going to 14.5mg? That is what I understand from what you are saying.

Instead of thinking as old and new, think higher and lower if it makes it clearer (you are going from a higher old dose to a lower new dose)

If so:

Day 1 14.5mg Days 2-7 you will take 15mg (6 days)

Day 8 14.5mg Days 9-13 you will take 15mg (5 days)

Day 14 14.5mg Days 15-18 you will take 15mg (4 days)

Day 19 14.5mg Days 20-22 you will take 15mg (3 days)

Day 23 14,5mg Days 24-25 you will take 15mg (2 days)

Day 26 14,5mg Day 27 you will take 15mg

Days 28-29 14.5mg Day 30 15mg

Days 31-32 14,5mg Day 33 15mg

Days 34, 35, 36 14.5mg Day 37 15mg.

Days 38,39,40,41 14.5mg

And at that stage you can probably say every day 14.5mg and you have transferred to the new lower dose.

Is that clearer? Going that slowly you can usually get away with a 1mg drop so instead of where I have written 14.5, use 14mg.
