Tingling sensation like ants crawling in neck

I have GCA but have been told post MRI I have trapped nerves in neck ..the thing is I have swelling in a distinct line running down the right-hand side of my neck ..looks like a blood vessel but osteo says it is superficial and feels rubbery ..he is concerned but gp not so says tension ???? Has anyone suffered from this?

No, but it does sound upsetting. Are you thinking that it is connected with GCA? Is there another doctor you can seek a second opinion from?

The tingling/ants sensation is typical of trapped nerves.

Could the neck part be associated with the sternocleidomastoid muscle?

I took myself to GP with similar symptoms and he said I probably slept awkwardly, two days later I had shingles. I’m not saying this is the same but I would get a second opinion!! Good luck !!

This sound whacky but any corded or prominent blood vessel should be checked br a breast consultant as my daughter discovered with third stage breast cancer.
