Tapering around a particular holiday.

I just started tapering to 8.5 from 9mgm today Sunday. My next drop is due this coming Thursday-Thanksgiving. I don’t want to mess up the schedule much. Should I drop the Wed before or the Fri after?

The day after (Friday) - but if it were me I’d probably have stayed at 9mg for this week, and then commenced taper next Sunday.

What another week in the great scheme of things….

I do not have any holiday duties; I just don’t think I should drop that particular day.

Had it been me, I'd have waited until after Thanksgiving. A week here or there is nothing in the overall picture ...

Agree with DL and PMRpro, an extra week is neither here nor there in the great scheme of things.

Hello, I don’t really know what you by “mess up”, what’s going to go wrong if you wait a bit? Personally I’d wait more than a day because if you’re worried about the effect of a particular day, the next one tends to be a wipeout day if it does affect you and also if it’s going to be that strenuous that you are concerned about dropping, a week is likely better.

For me - l’d ‘miss’ a week ie stay on your current dose & then continue the taper after the Holiday.

We always advocate NOT reducing over Christmas ~ Thanksgiving is a Big Holiday for you guys in the USA 🇺🇸

PS - PMR doesn’t know about holidays 😉
