Having suspected I was having a flare, as I had generally totally overdone everything, I increased my dose (as advised on here) of Prednisolone from 7mgs to 12 mgs fully intending that I would reduce down again to the 7mgs over a few weeks by reducing at a rate of 1mg a week.
We went on a lovely weeks holiday to Dubai and whilst I was OK and the discomfort was reduced it wasn’t 100% gone.
Roll on to getting home, generally OK but after 3 days felt like I was getting a cold then woke up the next morning feeling utterly wretched with aches in my shoulders, arms and lower back and sneezing - yep definitely a cold but the pain was hateful so upped to 15 mgs intending to give myself 5 days there and then back down - 24 hours feeling sorry for myself and doing nothing resulted in my feeling massively better so definitely a cold with a lingering cough that has bruised my diaphragm.
Next day the other half started feeling wretched, bless him he’s got my cold (this was yesterday) I think.
Anyway we are now on to today, he hasn’t left his bed and hurts all over, feels dreadful, hmm I think……dig out a COVID test and yep no denying that lovely pair of lines on his test, did one myself and yep there it is
So, yes I had a flare but dammit now have COVID for the first time! Fingers crossed I have gotten away lightly and it does one very quickly
Having said that the NHS is sending me loads of texts now about my positive test, waiting for a call from the NHS to advise me what treatments they want to give me - probably too late as I suspect this started at the weekend - I won’t hold my breathe for that.
