Hi One more issue. My mouth has become very sore.Unable to eat .Ive been to my dentist about my false teeth but they are still hurting sooo much.My Dr has sent me for X-rays suspecting osteoporosis of my jaw thanks to long term usage of prednisolone. Very upsetting just when I think Im starting to recover.Well slowly. And he decided to freeze something that wouldnt heal on my chin so thats awful and sore too.Im in a bit of a mess at the moment. Vision not good. Pred induced glaucoma and chest pain and very tired.Just when I thought I was getting on the upside.
I have just reduced 5 to 4.5 I think I may increase again.
Not feeling very happy.

I can sympathise with you about all you reported as im also experiencing a lot of the symptoms you mention: sore teeth and gums, low level headache, muscle fatigue, no energy, no motivation, feet hurt, etc etc etc😭 im not sure what is related to PMR and what is related to side effects of predesalone?I also have 2 blood cancers and have low iron as a result of the treatments/ management for one of them which adds to the fatigue and complicates what symptoms are related to what? Its like trying to untangle a very big tight knot.
Im sending you a virtual hug and hoping you start to feel better soon🤞
Yes, my doctor said the Prolia injections for osteoporosis frequently cause jaw necrosis. They "forgot" to mention that when they gave me the first shot. I'll never take it again. With oral biphosphates, they can be stopped but once you have the Prolia injection, it's in you! (Yes, I'm on long term Prednisone.)
I found out about the Prolia side effect of jaw necrosis when I went to the dentist for a regular cleaning, she found a cavity but cannot repair it without medical clearance from my primary care physician. The primary care doctor said NO medical clearance for dental work due to having had Prolia injection! Prolia's own web site has warnings of jaw necrosis as a side effect.
I researched Prolia's web site and then appealed the primary care physician's decision of no medical clearance because the injection was 10 months ago. It is supposed to be repeated in 6 months but the doctor "forgot" so I never received the next shot. The Prolia web site said that 10 months time from the last injection would be "safe" to avoid jaw necrosis from "normal" dental work. I finally got my medical clearance from the primary care physician to fill one cavity. It took me 3 months and lots of documentation, phone calls, and emails. I have an appointment this Monday to fix the cavity.
For the first time in my life, I am excited to go to the dentist. My wallet will not be, but I am.
No - the bisphosphonates remain in the body for life - not sure that Prolia does in the same way. And I'd dispute the "frequent" for jaw necrosis - It is fairly uncommon with any of the drugs although it is found more when they are used for cancer patient.
The soreness at the gums and elsewhere is possibly a viral infection. I was always getting these even before pred. My dentist said it was possibly Cocksackie and suggested "being kind" to the infected area which meant salt water cleanses and hopefully it would go in a week or so. Mouth infections in my experience usually do I am using Neem mouthwash. On the other hand my GP took a look in my mouth today and diagnosed Candida (Heavens knows what he foundin there - I hadn't cleaned my teeeth post breakfast not expecting him to take a look!! ) Be there as it may there is a prescription for Nystatin waiting for me at Boots! I think you are right Raewynne. This has happened since I dropped 10 to 9mgs so an up may make you feel considerably better as suggested by Dorset Lady - Queen of the Taper! Congratulations on your 5 mgs!
Now I have finished this I see I am nearly 3 weeks too late. Never mind,,,,
