Hi I'm new to this web site and already finding really useful information and advice and most of all feeling much less isolated with this condition. I am still trying to understand which aches and pains are actually due to GCA/PMR and which are simply age and activity related. However reading Kate Gilberts book and reading your stories has helped immensely thank you for sharing.
GCA and me : Hi I'm new to this web site and... - PMRGCAuk
GCA and me
Hi and welcome - it's why we're here! In the hope of passing on our accumulated knowledge.
Once you get to lower doses it sometimes is difficult to know at times, especially when you’ve been on high doses for GCA….when all pain is masked by the Pred.
Plus if you have other issues, like osteoarthritis they will likely have deteriorated when you were on the high doses without you realising it….
Do you have any specific pains in particular which are causing issues?
If you describe them, we may be able to help…or if you try ordinary painkillers and they help, it’s unlikely to be GCA/PMR. However, if they don’t help, it probably is GCA/PMR….
Welcome to the 'club' where we really are all in it together 🙂. Good to have you aboard. Keep smiling.
Hi misnomer and welcome 😊
It seems you have a lot on at the moment - good luck with your treatment.s 😊
All the best xx
Hi Misnomer, fortunately for me, I can't help with the GCA, but many here can will. Welcome to the site and don't be afraid or worried about asking questions.
Love your on screen name 😉
Welcome to the PMR crew! This site is a fabulous source of info. It's really helped me over the last 6 years. When you have more than one pain causing problem it can be hard to tell them apart. Be gentle on yourself is the best thing I can offer x
