reducing oral steroids

I'm new on this site. I was looking for advice and other people's comments on reducing oral steroids. Not getting much help from GP due to being unable to make an appointment at the current time, which is frustrating but I'm doing my best to reduce stress!!

I've researched online and it appears best to reduce by 1mg per 2-3 weeks when the current daily dose is down to 10mg.

What experience do others have?

1mg every 2 to 3 weeks is FAR too fast from 10mg unless you are very lucky indeed. 1mg per month should be the maximum and some people can't even manage that.

I suggest you go to the FAQs and look at the tapering links. Then come back and ask more specific questions - I alone could write a few pages on tapering and others have their takes too, you might get overwhelmed this generally.

As PMRpro says too fast -even the “official” guidelines say 1mg every 4-8 weeks once below 10mg . Certainly not every 2-3 weeks
