What is the difference between Polymyalgia Arthriticia and Polymyalgia Rheumatica ( please excuse the spelling!)

can anyone help please what is ( if any) difference between the two? husband insists its Arthritica not Rheumatica need to get this correct cant get to GP at the moment

No such thing as poymyalgia arthritica - try googling it and it will come up as polymyalgia rheumatica. There IS giant cell ARTERITIS - arteritis means it is inflamed arteries. Not to be confuses with arthritis. Totally different thing.

Arthritis means it affects joints. Rheumatics applies to soft tissues, PMR affects muscles and soft tissue structures around the joints and causes inflammation which doesn't actually leave lasting damage although the synovium, the lining of joints can be involved while the disease is active. In inflammatory arthritis there is usually eventually erosive damage to the joints.
