Starting dose for pred

Hello again experts. I've been off pred for 8 months now. PMR symptoms seemed to have subsided. Rheumatologist decided I didn't have PMR but fractures of the sacrum (result of mri). I wasn't convinced but was hopeful. However I can feel the beast rearing it's ugly head again and would appreciate your thoughts on a suitable starting dose for pred prior to speaking to my gp. As much as I hate to go back on them, I know I can't leave it as long as I did before so your advice will be invaluable as always. Thank you.

If you catch it quickly enough you may find that 5mg does it, but you won’t really know until you try. Depends on how much inflammation has built up over the last 8 months.

Thank you Dorset Lady. I didn't want to go back to 20mg straight away. I will speak to my gp and try 5 to start. Thanks again 🙏

Worth a try, but you may need more, but certainly not as high as 20mg hopefully.

I agree with DL completely, try to zap it with a magic 5 mgs. This weather seems to ramp up the symptoms for many of us.
