Methotrexate 6weeks on

Just had my 6 week review on Methotrexate. Everything okay at the moment, only noticeable sides effects so far is waking up an hour earlier every day and more hair coming out than usual when I wash it. My folic acid has been increased to 6 x week and I have been told I can take Biotin as it will not affect blood results. Specialist Nurse contacted the consultant and pharmacist to confirm. So I’ve started on that. Now moved onto monthly bloods instead of fortnightly. I’ll keep you posted.

Good News Abbey - very positive; l used to take Biotin alongside the Folic Acid too - l had the Pharmacist & the Rheumy Team check it out too……I don’t take it now due to Chemo doing a number on my hair 🤦🏻 so l just take my Folic Acid 6/7 days

Best Wishes

My folic acid was also increased to 6x weekly, and it seems to have done the trick. Now we just have to wait for new thatch to grow. Hope it doesn't take too long, because it's cold without it!
