Looks like I’ll be able to at least use 0.25mg decreases to zero and quite likely even 0.125 +/- 0.01 mg if I’m extremely careful at cutting. The picture shows the cutter used, the result of a 1mg tab cut in half and rotated 180 degrees and cut again to yield individual 0.25mg wedges. This actually was easy and understand I was very deliberate in the positioning - alignment before making the cut. I’ll save these for use later. I tried 2 attempts at cutting a 0.25mg wedge in half. The first I figured wouldn’t work and that was putting the pie shaped wedge with the point facing toward the pivot and the result wasn’t pretty, it basically crumbled. However, placing the 0.25mg wedge with the factory outer edge facing the pivot gave the results shown. Not having a precision balance available and using eyesight I’m estimating the larger is approximately 0.165mg and the remnant 0.085mg. I believe if I really wanted to make the effort to be more precise (like putting it under my adjustable circular magnifier with light when positioning) that I could get it more precise to use for tapering under 1mg.
Maybe the effort is overkill, but what is important is I know it’s doable and that I definitely will be able to use 0.25mg steps or less.
Since this is possible, I’m going to try continuing using DL Simple Taper 5-7 week taper all the way down as opposed to switching to the 8 week DSNS. 🤞🏻
