I am wondering if the burning sensation on my back near to where my bra fastens could be bursitis. Any thoughts please

Less likely - they are mostly found in large joints:

However, there are small bursae between the cervical and thoracic vertebrae

And if you read the Introduction - that is a feature of PMR!!!! But - it is most likely in C6/C7 and that is much higher than any bra fastening.
