Hi Harry, it can be very much a trial & error plus what works best for you….

Have you looked at the Reduction Plans in FAQ?

Harry, we all get anxious to get lower quicker - it doesn’t work! 🤦🏻I always get carried away with my chart thinking where’ll l’ll be by a certain date - it never works!

What dose are you on now?

A lot of Rheumy’s like alternate days but most people find it confuses the body l like the slower taper like DorsetLady ’s - decide what you think would work & go with that for at least a month & see how you go & remember don’t drop by more than 10% 😉

Last year Prof Dasgupta told us how he keeps many of his patients on approx 2mg indefinitely to prevent relapses.

MrsNails at 4 1/2 just now cutting 1mg every 8 weeks and think that's slow but iam not risking a flare so happy at that just now when or if I get to 3 will make 1/2 every 8 weeks and see how it goes .

Short answer - the one that suits YOU…like many things with PMR/GCA…

I, of course, would say mine😉..but there are others - try and see.

Well you can go slower…by reducing 0.5mg a time….….are you having issues? Or just looking for a different way?

Not being flippant (as I was slightly in my first reply)…the best one is what suits you….and if it works, then don’t tinker with it.
