I took pred at 7.30 this morning 10mg but I think I may need more I’m in pain can I take 5 mg extra now and then 15 mg in morning to see if works he maybe 15mg next day or is that too high. At 15 I was pain Free

It does sound as if you are flaring. You tapered from 12.5 to 10 mgs using the advice on here, over the period of a month. That should have been ok but perhaps you needed longer or your symptoms hadn’t settled enough to be tapering at all. How did you feel on 12.5mgs? If your symptoms were gathering at that level then what you suggest could well work ie 5 mgs now and back to 15 mgs tomorrow for a little longer. Do you have an approachable doctor to ask?I definitely needed 20 mgs to begin with and I stayed there for 6 weeks before I began my first taper. I have always been cautious in my tapering and have never had a full blown flare. My Rheumatologist gives me my head and usually agrees with my decisions. Having read about other people’s doctors, I feel truly thankful. Good luck Uglow!

How long should I stay at 15 and how do I taper. -1 a week or longer
