Raised veins in forehead /temples

One more question...anyone with GCA HAVE RAISED VEINS above temples in forehead? If so do you know if they will go away???

Do you mean something like this? If so it’s a typical picture to describe GCA, although have to say mine weren’t enlarged at all.

As the steroids begin to work on the inflamed blood vessels they should return to normal size/appearance.

Yes but mine aren’t nearly that pronounced. Probably no one would really notice except for me but I can see them.

I had raised veins and really bad headaches for three days when I was diagnosed with GCA, I was put on 40mg of prednisone, I felt a lot better once the tablets kicked in, I am now down to 2mg next week. Had a blood test last week and everything seems to be fine. I have been on the medication now for 18months. Hope this makes you feel better, have you just been diagnosed with it?

Do you mean veins or arteries? One of the symptoms of GCA may be swollen arteries.
