Hi.how long does it take for your parental glands to start working.i a m 6mg.

i assume you mean adrenal glands? They haven't really STOPPED working - they just aren't making cortisol because there was plenty of pred to do the job. They produce the other stuff they make. Like the central heating radiators might not be on because it is warm enough but the hot water is working.

There is no answer - it is a slow process, it isn't like flicking a switch and it doesn't start at the same dose for everyone.

Adrenals ?

No specific time.....everyone is different.

Below 7.5mg they should begin to function - partially to start with, but may not up to 100% until at least a year after stopping Pred.

Slow tapering and patience is required.

Your adrenal glands should be starting to work again and will have to put more effort into it as you reduce lower!!
