So I had the results of my blood test my CRP is now 22 so just reduced by 3.
The doctor thinks that I do not have PMR, unfortunately I have just googled what a CRP of 25 may mean, this fatal I know, I am in pain, so its got to be something, I was kind of happy I had a diagnosis but now I'm just worried.
I have already booked another blood test next week, and at least he is going to chase up my hospital appointment for my bust achilles heel at the hospital, so that's a result but just no news is worrying.

As we all know blood markers can lag behind symptoms - so as they are not always raised when symptoms start, you could assume they may take longer to reduce as well.
They have reduced which is the main thing....hopefully staying on the same dose of Pred they will have reduced a bit more next test.
GP is maybe too impatient.....and perhaps you should stop looking at google! Not good for your stress levels!
yes I agree, I have had a chest xray and my hospital visit has confirmed that my Achilles heal is ruptured so I will be having an op. Maybe I do have PMR or Rheumatoid arthritis either way I wont know until I do get to speak to a rheumatologist. so all I can do is wait
All it really means first off is that the dose of pred is not quite enough for a rapid reduction in the inflammation that is already there, just enough to deal with the new batch each day. It can take a while for the markers to fall even though the ongoing pain is improved. And it is barely a week - Rome wasn't built in a day and PMR inflammation isn't resolved in a week.
If the steroids worked well and you have the symptoms of PMR it is quite possible it is PMR. Why does your doctor think it is not PMR? My CRP is continually high. I think it was 49 at the last reading. My GP just ignores it now.
Hi Cats64 my bloods were 23 on initial diagnosis and after being on 2 month of prednisalone they have come down to 13. The first month they only reduced to 21, then 17. It is a slow process and that is coming from someone who is new to all this. If you feel better that's is more important than bloods I would think.
