Could be - do you have any symptoms? But OTOH could be many things, just shows you have inflammation in body, not why
Impossible to say - it is a very non-specific test. It is perfectly possible that you need 11mg - even 1/2mg could be the difference. If you have symptoms and the CRP is high, the most likely reason is the PMR. But a chest infection can send CRP way up.
Hi Hunter134. Raised inflammation levels may mean an infection is currently present. Since I suffer infections all the time I.e. persistent UTIs, gum / teeth infections both my GP and Rheumy have given up on blood tests as they say my infections will skew blood results, so they go by PMR symptoms instead of results. Could it be you have an undiagnosed infection going on? If your PMR symptoms are stable perhaps it is worth investigating other causes?
