hi I used to be member but lost my membership somehow, lm really getting flare ups,Iput my meds up to 14mg pred.with Gp consent I'm waiting to see my rheumy, Ive had a phone consultation in March but my inflammation levels don't seem to be improving as I had hoped bad aches in hips ectr.and neck my Gp thinks I'm becoming too dependent on my meds,bit depressing really hoping I'll get an appointment to seem my rheumy soon. I used to be known as sailormo.

Hello! Could you give a bit more detail about when you were diagnosed, how the dosing went, how your symptoms were, where you were before going up to 14mg? Have you ever had relief of your symptoms with Pred? Hopefully people can then make some suggestions.

If the inflammation levels aren't improving it is more likely to be because you aren't on enough pred - and that isn't because you are dependent on it but because it hasn't been used properly. It isn't like opiods.

But as Snazzy says - need lots more info to make sensible suggestions.
