Is it possible to have PMR without a very high initial CRP?mine was mildly elevated and 2/3 rheumies think I have PMR

Only was reading in Kate’s book that it was a differentiating factor for LORA-ie if not elevated not PMR

Thanks for any answers and does anyone see Dr Menon in Chichester?Am thinking of transferring my care back to him

Not sure that what Kate says is correct. They haven't identified any factors that can reliably differentiate between PMR and LORA and it is accepted by many experts that about 1 in 5 patients with PMR have normal ESR and/or CRP. My CRP has only ever been raised once - on a day where I had a bad atrial fibrillation episode.

I see Dr menon and he's brilliant. Nit a bad thing to say about him. He's got a thing about following low carb diet which is good but only because he had to take steroids himself, didn't behave with food and now is insulin dependent diabetic!!,
