Symptom free MRI?

My primary care doctor suspects Polymyalgia and GCA and has ordered an MRI which will be happening tomorrow. While waiting for the authorization from insurance, the symptoms have gone down. I know they will come back, they always do. This last time was the worst ever. I am concerned that because I am not showing signs right now, that the MRI won't show anything. Does anybody know if l am wasting my time and money doing this symptom free? It has taken me years to get a dr to even think it is something more. Thanks for any answer.

might be helpful to you. Is it to be high resolution MRI and are they familiar with imaging for GCA?

It is very unusual for PMR symptoms to come and go - how do they present, how long do they last, what is affected?
