saw my Doc. today, my ESR is at 17 last week it was at 80 . Doc making an appoinment to go and see Rheumatologist. May take a few month to see one. Down to 35 mg for the next week. more blood work next week. Pain is much less, thanks for all your information.

Thanks for checking in. That's good progress.

I know you feel better, but remember, you're still sick. It's so easy to get fooled into doing too much, too soon, because you feel better. Take it slow so you don't wind up back on your butt...This is a marathon, not a sprint.

Good you feel better. - but you should on 40mg it’s a high dose for PMR - more normal starting dose is 15-25mg.

I guess there’s a reason you were started so high, and you you can probably reduce reasonably easy until you get to about 20mg, but then you need to ease up. Plus if you are reducing weekly, it’s very easy to go below the level you actually need without realising it until it’s too late - and you end up flaring.

As Good Grief says you still have the underlying illness, so don’t get too gung ho, but good luck.
