I think the key thing is that we avoid live vaccines with a compromised immune system. I haven’t been offered the Shingles vaccine, but that is the question I would be asking.

Personal choice really since the doses of pred used for PMR are said to be OK to have the vaccination.

However, the one currently available in the UK on the NHS is the older live Zostavax vaccine and amongst its adverse effects it lists PMR and shingles. The newer, non-live vaccine is so far only available privately in the UK at about £420 for the two shots.
