I was sick with a bronchial cold last month.Would that affect the crp?

Yes - a chest infection is quite likely to send the CRP up. It is a non-specific marker and chest problems are one thing that is relevant.

I would love to have a CRP of 7. Mine is currently 88 although it has been down as low as 19. My GP says a high CRP is just normal for me. I must admit I am taking his comment with a pinch of salt.

Mine is currently at 7 and hasn’t been lower in the 3.5 years that I have had PMR. I don’t pay much attention to it but listen more to my level of pain to know how I’m doing. It definitely goes up with an infection.

I get mine really low, less than 1, when I am not in a flare of something. I attribute it to a healthy diet with lots of veggies, no sugar or alcohol, gluten free, no processed foods except for black bean pasta. Exercise helps the immune system too but have been a bit lazy lately.

I've been taking 20mg of prednisone for a year and my CRP is still 12.

I've had PMR for 8 years and my CRP has NEVER been as low as 7. At the moment 14.
