D you take any other drugs?

I ask cause I take about 10 to 20mg of amitriptyline. If I don't get it swallowed with enough water it leaves my mouth and lips numb and it spreads for a while. Its only the darker coloured pills so have put it down to the blue dye. It could be you are sensitive to the dyes or fillers in pred.

People can get many sorts of common and less common unusual feeling side effects in the first week of a new Taper.

Trying to rest , relax , have a quieter week of activity in that first week on a taper can help along with good hydration and lighter , nutritious meals and some gentle stretching.

If you also take other medication it can add to your side effects as your body is trying to adjust to the new chemical changes it is experiencing. Taking the standard dose of Paracetamol daily through the first few days of a Taper can often improve Pain or unusual tingling symptoms associated with withdrawal.

Taking a multivitamin and mineral and Omega 3 as well as the prescribed Vitamin D and Calcium can be beneficial throughout the month , as can taking Magnesium and increasing Vitamin C , B complex , Potassium , Magnesium , Zinc and Selenium food groups in your diet , especially for side effects that involve immunity , allergy or nerve related symptoms.

Just keep an eye on your symptoms , note any new ones in a little diary to talk about with your GP at your next appointment , so they can be added on your medical history , in case they occur again and need to be checked in the future if they keep occurring in case they are not to do with PMR , GCA or your steroids.

If the symptom does not improve after seven days , or it gets worse , or any of your original Pain and PMR symptoms return and get worse despite following rest and Self Care guidance go and see your GP , or contact them by phone to request further advice and possibly a return to the previous steroid dose you were on before that Taper.

Yes. But not sure if it’s from the Pred or histamine intolerance (new development)

I do get an itchiness high up on both cheeks of my face, but put it down to dry skin. Are you tapering from a high dose of Pred?
