Hi,
If that helps then no need to go any higher, today should tell you.
Usual recommendation is 5mg above the dose you last felt okay at. What was that? And how have you reduced?
You are in the territory when adrenals need to kick back in, and many find it a bit difficult, so the slower you taper, the better.
About a week at the higher dose should suffice, and then if okay you should be able to drop back down - to 8mg initially - 7mg was obviously too low.
Since 10 Mg have dropped 1 a month
Hello, I only have GCA and found at this stage I had a lot of aches and pains as my adrenals were being challenged but were too sleepy to care at 7mg. For this reason I reduced 0.5mg every 6-8 weeks when I got to doses below 10mg and even slower under 5mg.
Too fast! 0.5mg is better.
And looking at previous posts I think you are trying to rush things - you can’t rush PMR. You’ve posted a couple of times about problems, and according to post three weeks ago you said you were at 5mg - or was that a typo?
You need to ease off a bit - or you’ll just end up yo-yoing up and down - not good!
I did send you my intro in a reply to your first post - have a read through that again please, and in particular look at the links about tapering/pacing yourself.
Has 3 mgs done the trick, maybe 5 mgs if not then try straight back down after a week.
Looking at your past posts you seem to be swinging around on dose. What dose ARE you on - please could you give us some accurate details of your reduction journey. You sould to have been struggling for a while.
The basic rule is you shouldn't feel worse at the end of a reduction step than at the start. And it sounds very much as if you have ignored a lot of warning signs.
