CHANGES TO PMR
You would get symptoms of GCA which include headache, jaw pain when chewing, scalp pain, feeling as if you have flu, low grade fever, maybe a cough, visual symptoms such as blurring and double vision or even fleeting loss of vision. You won't get all of them, they may be quite mild but if you have PMR and are on pred it will probably feel like a flare of the PMR as well. If your doctor did blood tests and they were raised they are likely to go up again.
If anything like that happens, go to your doctor as soon as possible. If you have any visual changes you must see your doctor immediately, the same day. If that isn't possibly then go to the ED/A&E and tell them your history.
Do you have PMR and are you worried for yourself? Roughly speaking, you start to get GCA symptoms. Do think there are some?
What symptoms do you have that makes you think it’s GCA?
