Change of time to take pred

I have to have an investigative procedure in hospital on Tuesday which means I can’t eat all day before it. I take my pred with breakfast normally. Will it matter if I take them early evening that day and then go back to mornings the following day. I usually avoid night time pred taking because of the sleep interference but have no choice on Tuesday.

That should be fine. As a general rule better to have an overlap of more pred rather than less, so try an make sure you don't have 36 hours before your next dose. If you are still at 9mg you might want to try a split dose Tuesday night /Wednesday morning and take 3mg Tuesday night and 6mg Wednesday morning. Or even 3mg in addition to 9mg Wednesday am.

If your pred is uncoated you may need a spoonful of yoghurt. Take as late as you can.

When I have had fasting investigations I have taken my medications, including pred, when I get up. I just have them with a glass of tap water. It has always been fine. My letters have always said to do that.
