Hi. Iv had gca since 2013 and pmr since 2014. My new GP gave me this link and I'm so so glad she did. I think this is going to help me physically and mentally.

Hello Sundaychild 🌷

What a very enlightened GP you have!

Any questions, at any time there’s usually someone around & we can always point you in the right direction for specific queries.

If you could update your Profile Details that enables us to answer you more fully.

Welcome! It's good to hear that a gp recommended the forum. Everyone was so helpful to me and you will have experience that will help other members given the length of your PMR and GCA. 🌻

Hi and welcome! Now this sounds like a new generation GP - not scared of forums and the internet!!! Hope she is good at PMR too!

My pharmacist said to me she is recommending people get on forums for support.

Welcome to the forum.

Keep tight hold of that gp, she sounds amazing. Whenever you have questions (and you will have at some stage) just post and someone will get back to you fairly quickly. YBB

Thank you. Iv only had my new GP a matter of weeks and already she's been very positive and helpful.

Welcome Sundaychild! I am sure you are right. Lovely that your GP sees the very real value of this forum. It can produce” questioning patients” though. Good doctor’s are not afraid of this. 🌼

I think I want your GP!

This is the second good news story I have heard this week about GPs who are far more open to patients learning from each other and being willing to use our experience to help them give better care .

I am so happy to hear that , at least in some parts of the Country , Doctors are being more enlightened , but the first GP to actually have the consideration to pass on the forum and use it as it should be as part of a patient's tools to cope with their illness.

Next time you see the GP make sure you let them know how impressed we all are with their attitude and that they are a rare gem.

And to you yourself , a big hug and welcome , come and chat anytime , and I hope we can all live up to your GPs recommendations.

Take care xx

What a great GP you have. Think most flounder cos they don't know how to treat PMR. Shame a few more don't take a leaf out of her book.
