Thank you to all who replied. Everything that was said made sense and I feel better for it. Rather wishful thinking that I might finish Pred this year.

We all have wishful thinking and imagine we will be the one who gets rid of this quicker than anyone else. I am very lucky in having a gp who said I was to taper slowly to hopefully avoid a flare and then when I saw my rheumy he slowed my taper down even more. Nice and slow is the way. Good luck with your taper. Keep us up to date please.

I think I have avoided a flare in 3 yrs due to reducing by 1/2mg once a month. Realise now I was stressed and definitely overdid things as I felt slightly ok. Hosp. suggest 1mg reductions but I will stick to 1/2.
