It never as bad as you think it will be. Happy to have a dentist but not so happy to go. I go up on prednisone too, and no problems so far. Sending happy vibes! This will be over soon and you wont have to do it again!
I didn't know to take extra Pred when I had extraction but was ok. However had problem with healing (on AA then) and had 2 lots of infection over 2 months even though using recommended mouthwash. I switched to saltwater which was much better.
So please just be watchful with the healing, and take it easy for a couple of days.
I had a wisdom tooth out a couple of years ago - it was far easier than the extractions I'd had before! Upper left wisdom tooth, single root but continuing to grow sideways as it was not opposed - was out in a flash!
I didn't take more pred, the socket was fine, didn't bleed much at all and all healed quickly.
I'd been worried about it being on pred and anticoagulant therapy - dentist wasn't, he was right. Hope yours goes as well.
Thanks everyone for the support...i have always hated going to dentist, but never had a bad experience...today will most likely be fine also...fingers crossed! 🤞🏽
Take care , be careful brushing , you could use a soft brush for awhile.
Swill your mouth with Luke warm green tea after food , as it helps clean the mouth and reduce infection and drink it through the day.
Adding some Manuka honey to probiotic yoghurt will help cool the mouth , its antiviral and antibacterial and helps reduce the chance of fungal infections .
Hopefully you won't get an infection , but if you think you are get to the dentist quick to get antibiotics.
Hope your sockets are healing well too.
Have any issues just post again , I know lots of people have experience and good advice.
Keep well and get lots of rest if you need too , hugs , Bee xx
Thank you for the wise advice. I am doing quite well, no excessive bleeding and practically no pain. Just a ginormous hole in my mouth!
Feeling kinda droopy, but think thats all the injection drug and maybe the laughing gas🤪...however...it is over, and I am so grateful for everyone's support!
