Rheumatologist appointment

So I went to a rheumatologist appointment today which had been requested by the rhumy I had seen previously to investigate possibility of periodic fever syndrome. The lovely lady I saw this time didn't have a Scooby why I was there! Wants me to come off pred within a year, was not concerned about my recent episode of double vision, and was not concerned about the swelling in my shin. She did however decide to arrange a ct scan of my upper body to look for anything dangerous in my lymph nodes. The swollen glands in neck and high temperature I experience every 12 weeks or so has been going on for about 10 years. Call me a cynic but surely if there was something dangerous going on I would be dead by now! Hey ho another waste of time.

Sometimes you couldn't make it up could you? I got a recall to a rheumy who had misdiagnosed my PMR-related hand and knee pain as OA and she was SO rude about why was I there? Since she had a trainee with her you could tell where they get it from. My husband was a consultant at the same hospital and she must have known who I was - so pity help Joe Public is all I can say...

I`m sure you must have given her a reply!.....so hopefully the trainee knew what he might encounter in the future.......

Unfortunately not!

It never fails to amaze me but the CT may prove beneficial!
