Today has been a bit emotional. Visit to chiropractor established I have lots of arthritis but worst area is in right shoulder (hence extra pain). The root of the problems stems from neck, a historical whiplash I never knew I had (but stems from a DV incident over twenty years ago), a problem with spine vertebrae half way up and twisted below with obvious probs with pelvic area (following my two ski accidents). Jackpot! Was "adjusted" by lovely young man and immediately felt freer in the neck! My bank card was hit for a fortune but no "pain" no gain! I feel blessed to be able to afford it. Lunch with my lovely hub and a dear friend followed by a long walk (again blessed to be able to do this) to clear my head. My neck X-ray looks like an 's', it won't ever go back to normal but they can help to straighten it a bit. So begins my next "new" adventure! Rest now before off to run autistic group. Life goes on.

Well that triple whammy is a bit much for one day!

BUT you have (what sounds like) a good chiropractor on your team now, so it can only get better. I have used chiro since my 30’s, and swear by them to keep me moving, and reduce the various pains. Don’t be too disappointed if you feel worse tomorrow, your body’s been ‘assaulted’ and it dislikes being told it will be straight. Take it easy, paracetamol if you can, keep moving, and the day after will be better.

Thank you. I'm wondering how I will differentiate from stiffness which is not caused by PMR whilst tapering in future! I think I'm pretty confident I know PMR is still lurking - but the mind does so like to play games.... X

Keep in touch with your chiro. I tell mine where it hurts, and if they can find that cause and replicate the pain/irritate the muscle etc then I put it down to something other than PMR. You’ll know by now where YOUR PMR pains sit, and which bits tend to niggle first with steroid reduction and resurgence of activity.

How are you feeling today? As stiff as an old wotsit?

We have heated car seats. So soothing, I could sit there all day.
