GCA confirmed one year ago. Has anyone found any improvement with an anti inflammatory diet? I've decided to try it. I also have added tumeric and ginger to my daily fare. Thoughts?

Gca and diet
Both are good - turmeric better absorbed in cooking I think than the supplements, but I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.
I have generally followed an anti inflammatory diet and take turmeric regularly. Whilst I don’t think it actually treats the disease(s) I definitely feel better generally and it has helped keep weight down. Would definitely recommend.
If you are on any other medications do check they mix well - some don't.
I follow a low carb/sugar/salt diet incorporating some anti-inflammatory foods, but have not eliminated any specific foods/food groups. I also used to take turmeric, curcumin and omega 3 the first six months of my diet changes. Now I only take a calcium, vit D multi supplement with magnesium and some other minerals, along with vit K.
I am aiming for weight loss and sustainability to aid with my chronic knee issues. I also wanted to avoid diabetes and other pred side effects. My daughter who is a nutritionist has been helpful.
The anti-inflammatory foods and supplements are good for overall wellness and for those of us who suffer with inflammation, however the pred is so strong it does the best job combatting the inflammation (for me anyways). If/when I get off pred I will likely reincorporate some of the AI foods and supplements. For now though, I haven’t noticed much difference when I stopped consuming them.
There are a few forum members who have adopted a strict AI diet with positive results. They may chime in. I’m not sure I could follow that type of diet long term, but good for those for whom it has worked well.
