Tired of being Broke

I have been trying to go back to work for 10 years every time I feel well enough to return the doctor tells me to tapered down. By the time I get things squared away around my house a flare up starts again.

Yup I can relate to that. Various medical issues for last 10-12 years then DX with pmr, just great!!?? But the alternative is to not have woken up this morning so I guess I'll take what I'm given 🤷

Hello, I can imagine your frustration! It might help those who have more experience if you detail how you taper, what symptoms you get and what symptoms you’ve had in the past. Has the Pred always worked for you? Also, what do you mean about the house, as in what do you do that then seems to come before a flare?

More info would help to express an opinion - but do you always flare about the same dose? And are you trying to do too much? The pred doesn't cure the PMR - it manages the symptoms. And the real disease is still there chugging away in the background and attacking your body.
