Surge/flare up

This is just one image of what one of my surges "flare" ups look like. The arms wrists etc get swollen. It's quite amazing really.

Hello Qubbie,l am sorry that you having flare ups that cause swelling like that. I had a strange thing happen a couple of weeks ago ,there was a swelling ,below my right ear,very prominent,l was quite alarmed.l went to the nearest pharmacy and asked them for some advice,as l had been out shopping at the time. They advised me to see my doctor urgently. The surgery was fully booked up so l had to get on a bus to the A&E, by the time l had got there and waited over an hour, l was sent over to the GP unit and by the time l actually saw the doctor the swelling had gone down. The doctor did some checks around the area that had been swolen and said there was some inflammation there, and to see my doctor if l had any more problems with it.l have not had any swelling there since but it must have been connected to the PMR. If you are worried by swelling in your wrists and arms,l would see your doctor,l have not seen any other posts before yours about this problem,it could be worth checking it out with your GP.l wish you all the best,please keep in touch.

It's not anything I am worried about, it only happens when I get a PMR flare up.

It is kind of interesting watching it happen. Just being able to see it course through my veins
