Have any of you tried a mobility scooter? I’ve had my new ‘toy’ 4 weeks now and am able to go shopping - alone - for the first time in months. I wizz round the Spa gardens at 6kms per hour (if it’s not too crowded) and feel ‘free’ again. Independent again at last. It’s a good feeling!😎💥 Out and about without having to bother “ him indoors “. 😀

Mobility scooter
That's great. I was looking at hiring one in peak District for dam walk weeeeee.
I use a walker every time I go out can't walk very far without it! Scooter coming next good to hear that it's working for you
When did I first suggest you got one?
Someone in the south of England got an off-road version to be able to walk the coast walks. He said he wished he'd done it years before - it gave him his freedom back.
I may be poking OH to get one soon - he cannot do anything more than a very slight slope which is rather restricting living where we do!
Quite a long time ago, but we didn’t have a garage and D didn’t fancy faffing around with one in the car.😏 Also I would need a rollator as soon as I got off the thing.
Now we have enough place. Two garages and a cellar (which we can get to by lift). Mind you they cost - €115 per month. Mad!
Very pleased with my mini mobile though. Do get D to buy one. I can’t see the point of suffering. It takes some pluck to admit you can’t manage, but it’s worth it to be able to go places you haven’t been able to go to for months/years.
💐🍾🍸
So pleased for you Constance, this gives you so much more freedom to go out and about.
I love, love my mobility scooter! As you said, gives you complete freedom. Unfortunately with my high prednisone dosage, cataracts grew rapidly in both eyes. Can be a bit challenging scooting around using the brail method..😂
Get the cataracts seen to asap. No point in suffering.😏
Hi Constance. The C to in my I D stands for Constance which is my first name also. Unfortunately they do not have any surgery openings until September 26th. I am on a waiting list, but not going to hold my breath on that one.
Hi Constance.😀
! can’t believe you have to wait until the end of September before you can have the cataracts seen to. I had to wait 2 weeks for my appointment. We are much better off in the national health system in Germany. If I want to see a specialist I just phone his office and they tell me immediately if there is a wait. The longest wait, for newcomers, is at the rheumatologists - some of them have even closed their books - no new patients!! Thank goodness I have been with the same rheumy for 6 years and the practice is only 6 kms away.
At my next appointment at my Rheumy’s I plan on speaking to her about this. She seems to be able to fast tract appts. at the eye clinic. Hopefully she can fast tract this also. My sight has declined so much the past 4 months I can’timangine what will happen in the next 4 months.
