Newly diagnosed with PMR in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Early in the new year, 2018, found I was experiencing lots of hip pain. Saw my GP who diagnosed hip bursitis and I was treated with Naproxin and eventually a coristone injection. Shortly after the injection, the pain seemed to spread throughout my body. Went back to GP at which time she diagnosed PMR and put me on prednisone 20mg. After a couple of days of relief the pain worsened especially at night and in morning and so dose was upped to 25 mg which brought symptom relief. Now after 7 weeks I'm tapered down to 15 mg. Not feeling too bad.....legs seem a bit week but not much pain. Would love to meet with other PMR folks in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

You’re most welcome. It’s a nice feature, isn’t it? Lanakay is only 23 miles from me. We’re going to get together now that the weather has turned nice. Something comforting knowing she’s close - even though we’ve never met.

Thank you for your reply and your welcome to the community. I'm very glad to have found you. Thanks also for the information. There doesn't seem to be anyone on this site that lives in the Edmonton area. At least not yet.
