Hi, just a quick question, I got up at 5 this morning to take my 8.5 mg of pred as I always do but at 6.30 I was 🤢 will pared still be ok?

I think 2 hours is enough to get it into the bloodstream. If you get symptoms that suggest otherwise I’d Thame a bit more. I hope you get better soon.

Karina, if your Pred pills are the non-coated variety you should be fine as they are broken down and absorbed very quickly, so your one and a half hour gap should be fine. The coated version is absorbed in a different part of the gut so takes longer to break down and reach the blood stream. I do hope that was a one-off experience and you feel better soon.

On a nearly empty stomach ordinary uncoated pred should be absorbed in well under 2 hours - the peak in the blood is usually said to be 1-1 1/2 hours.
