I've Acclimatised!

It was a mere 5 days ago I was freaking out about taking 80 mg of Pred! I had this worry about growing two heads... well, thank goodness that did not happen! In fact, much to my surprise, I've acclimatised to being on 80 mg and I rather like it.

Bring it on MF!

Ah, there it is, Prednisone Euphoria. PhanPhlippingTastik!

Don't get fooled into doing too much physically. You still need to be gentle with yourself and get sufficient rest (if not sleep).

Putter if you must, but that doesn't mean do the windows and the floors and clean out the garage. It means doing things more like sorting those boxes of old photos into albums or sitting at the dining room table polishing grandma's silver.

Easy does it, mamaici1.

Yes - not to spoil 'the party' but as others suggest still try to not overdo things - at that level it's so easy - no pain - WOW it's like a whole new lease on feeling 18 again - you feel like you can do ANYTHING !! - and for a while you can - but it will eventually catch up - the underlying AI disease is still there and you might feel like a bit of a 'train wreck' when you start to taper a bit - so just TRY to pace yourself a little - really it's worth it in the end ... (bin there dun that)

Best wishes

Yup... I get it! Rationally and logically I understand. niw putting that into practice... a bit trickier! Thanks for reminder!

Gosh. 20mg made me feel like I was floating and made my CRP normal (3) for the first time in 2 years. It was a holiday from my body! Now tapered down to 10mg and CRP up to 19 and feeling like I'm not even on prednisone.

Yeah, 80 mg is a blessing and a curse! I don't float as so much as I fly! I went from 60 to 45 way to quickly and ended up at 80! I start tapering by 5 mg on Saturday.

I would like to be off the prednisone. My neck and face feel a bit puffy and my sleeping us not too good. My rheumatologist said to stay on 10mg for now because I have "active inflammation ". I don't have any firm diagnosis of anything yet, just inflammatory arthritis. The last flare up was a headache, neck pain, sore eyeballs for about 2-3 weeks. By the afternoons all I could do was curl up in the dark. My inflammation went up to 52.

If your CRP is rising and you have symptoms - you have gone too low.

I had that feeling at first. What the doctor kept telling me was to remember that I WAS sick ....and to still be careful and treat myself carefully.
