Does anyone else find they pull a muscle quite easily now
Happy Christmas everyone
Yes. I have experienced this and read on this site it can be expected on steroids. I felt so "normal" in first month of high dose, I returned to full on activity - and then pulled two muscles over two weeks. Now I rest and pace myself, having picked up all the advice.
Very much so! I’ve only got GCA so no PMR to complicate matters (so far). After a few months on Pred my previously fit muscles turned into gum. I pull them at the slightest provocation. Last year I wrestled manfully with the turkey. This year it has to be a duck because I don’t have the muscles for it but the family are quite happy because, it turns out, that nobody really liked turkey. To calm those on this forum who think I’ll be over doing it, I also have given the family their task list for tomorrow. No RSI from peeling potatoes for me!
Yes. My neck has always been prone to problems, but it happens very frequently, now, after little or no exertion - doing a budgie impersonation, as we speak!
Happy Christmas, all!
That may not be a "pulled" muscle but referred neck pain due to a myofascial pain syndrome trigger point in the shoulder muscles irritating the nerves to the neck and leading to the muscles going into spasm. I found bowen therapy helped a lot - but manual mobillisation of the trigger point by a physiotherapist or therapeutic massage therapist is even better!
