Thanks for this info. I have an IDBand pendant, but the writing is so small it is useless in an emergency. My blue steroid card is full too, from the changes in dose of Pred. Some chemists don't know about the blue card. The problem for me is making sure I take it from one handbag to the other!
Hi, I keep my blue card with my credit cards with a note of other meds inside and a contact phone number. Don't often go out without them! 🙂 Hope this may help.
Just the fact that you have the pendent would alert emergency people that there is a medical problem.
I have been known to forget my wallet, cash and credit cards when I've gone out shopping. I was once held "hostage" by a new hairdresser and had to phone my husband to come and bail me out. Very embarrassing!
Agree PMRpro - I visited 3 pharmacies when first diagnosed before I found a card. The GP didn't mention it, but then he didn't mention other things either, like bone health! When I joined PMRGCAuk, they sent me one and another at annual renewal.
About 40% of people still do not have internet access.............some familes have given them laptops etc and they then can do emails and Skype. The net and a printer............a step to far in many cases.
And the Govt, dropped the free training for over 60's many moons ago.
Hello jinasc, yes thank you for the link and I did look at the record card which looks great but I’m fortunately quite tecky with access to all the kit so the DIY one suits me for now. I do appreciate that this isn’t the case for everyone though and it saddens me that this wonderful technology, and the help and training to use it, isn’t readily available to so many who might want it. I don’t know where I’d be without it now. I also have an excellent local library offering these services but I appreciate that sadly many of us don’t have that either, so I count my blessings! 😊
