I have shoulder / arm pain in both shoulders, about 6 weeks. I cant say it is worse at any time of day, it is just always there - worse down the arms at times as though ligaments are twisting :( :(

Am about to start pred 20mcg - is it best to take in one dose or split??

Many thanks and hello :)

Hello from me too!

In PMR the recommended dosing is 1x daily, preferably early in the morning. In some people the effect doesn't last the full 24 hours and then they MAY benefit from splitting the dose, often 2/3 and 1/3 - a bit of experimentation may help. But start with it all at once in the morning and see how you get on.

Yes - we spend a lot of time telling doctors it isn't always "morning stiffness"! More like "all day stiffness"...

Hello alrk,

I really hope you obtain good relief from your pain! I have always taken Pred as a single dose with yoghurt or Omeprazole to protect the digestive system. Keep us posted.
