Yakult and pmr
Lots of us do eat yoghurt to take our pred without problems - and the only real problem with yakult is the amount of sugar in it!
The idea behind boosting the immune system with good diet and lifestyle is to help the bits of it that are essential and calm down the bits that are overactive and do damage by going for our own body parts. It is a fine balancing act because the part of your immune system that has lost it's way and is attacking the wrong areas is quietened by the Pred but that also quietens the bacteria and virus fighting.
Makes you wonder what to do for the best.I was thinking that a drink containing under 100 calories but doing some good for breakfast and enough to have before the Pred might be useful , but I remain as usual -confused. X
I think these situations can cause one to over think it to the point of causing stress. Trouble is we are all different and there are no hard and fast rules like, if it eat this and do that then it'll make me better and if it don't eat this, I'll get worse. Having said that, I agree some foods have been shown to be very beneficial for body. Sadly, this is a time when we all would love a bit of certainy, but I can't find a shop that sells it.
I doubt a Yakult for brekky will make you diabetic, but a biscuit later, followed by a pile of boiled potatoes with lunch, then a sweet snack or packet of crisps or two, fruit juice etc etc through the day won't do your stable blood sugar levels any good.
If your food is beige or has had to go to a factory to be made, or looks nothing like it did before it became your food, it probably isn't great unless in small quantities every now and again. My treats are a piece of high cocoa choccy and the odd sip of a good sparkling wine! The girl's got to live sometimes.
I love your last paragraph!!!!! Only the odd sip??
Ahem, well, somewhere between a sip and two glasses per whatever period is affordable and if my liver is open to negotiation
Love that - somewhere between a sip and two glasses!! The humour on this site does keep me going! 😂
No mention of the size of glass or whether the sip is more a sort of large slurp...
Fortunately if my food got any cleaner I would be borderline bunny. Porridge for breakfast, salad with protein for lunch ( no bread mind ) and protein veg and very small carbon for tea my treat( and I do not consult my liver) is two glasses of wine ! I don't think I could have coped for this past 15 months without it. !!! Thanks for you help .
I have Actimel with breafast every day, it contains Vit B6 and D so I'm hoping it's doing some good! I don't take sugar in tea or coffee so it is a bit of sweetness to start the day.
