Oh wow, it's beautiful!....and where is it? (apologies if I haven't followed your posts)

Cheers

no apologies necessary. it is in Santa Rosa California 🇺🇸.

It is Seniors only and has only 120 units it feels like a community n is gated which only means it is harder for bad guys to get in... I am 35 min to Bodega Bay n ocean ...

it is light industrial across the street n behind them is one of my favorite shopping centers.

all walkable with my shopping cart.

😊 It has been a long year n now I feel ready for my new life... It will be different than before no more Tango dancing but I have realized there is still lots to do to enjoy life..

Before I found you guys I couldn't figure out how come I couldn't dance 3 hrs anymore.. duh 🙄

This site has given me a new attitude of gratitude and a comradeship to help us all on this journey of PMR n GCA.

That's good - you can pack up slowly and not get yourself overtired. We moved about 9 months ago and it's nice when it's all done and you're in the new place.Take care x

in reply tozebsky

Thanks Zebsky

was talking to my twin who doesn't get my illness thinks it is all in my head...

Today I told her how I packed a box then had a rest... so having a month to pack is nice want to make it simple for my son n grandson to move me. Lucky for them I am a minimalist and love how it feels with all the Kaos gone. my new rule something in means something out.. it works for me... just can't figure out why I keep short pieces of string.. hahahaha!!!

Looks lovely and sounds like a fun place. We have a daughter in Santa Rosa.

in reply tocjatthesea

We are keeping our fingers crossed that it ends up with nice people which I have met a handful of they were all friendly..

Do you live around your daughter? My son is in Petaluma.

No, our main residence is on the coast in South Carolina. We have a Winter home on a canal in Southwest Florida. We haven't spent a lot of time at the Fl. house since GCA/PMR.....last winter, needed to come back to S.C. earlier than normal for medical care. Normally, we would be back down to Fl. by now but I'm dealing with medical care again. Have had one prednisone induced cataract surgery done just weeks ago. Not totally successful. Will probably put the next one off until July. Not happy but 'It is what it is'.

We have children spread all over. Others in Ca. are in Westwood ( L.A.) and Blue Lake ( Eureka ). Another son and family are getting ready to move from Laguna Hills to Seattle.

We're now living in a 55+ community....love it. Lots of amenities and wonderful neighbors. I'm unable to function a good deal of the time...life has been tough. But, have plenty of activities when I am able. Hope you'll be as happy in your new place.

So sorry to hear about not being able to travel to other home.

I could never understand why people would say I can't move because my doctor is here.

Finally figured it out. Love my doc so no plans of leaving area.

You have a great attitude..

Hope the new year is better for us all.

How wonderful for you, I bet you are over the moon and feeling so much happier. We moved back from Spain to UK in 2015, 2 months later I got PMR. Missing the warmer weather but happy to be nearer my family. xx

How wonderful for you. My son is in San Diego. I will be there in March for his wedding. I am in Illinois

Just decided to retire early in 2 and a half years. I need some life besides working

I rest so I can go to work and repeat. So happy for you and your new situation

in reply tobunnymom

I retired at 62 due to not being able to do my job.

I have always been hyper n active and now at 65 I am actually enjoying the fact I don't have to be anywhere and can do what I want.. I also am finding I like being alone which has never been the case for me. My cat 🐱 is great companion

my new mind set is simple life makes for less stress.. I now can sit down n read a book without feeling guilty.. but it has taken me years to get to this point...

I tell everyone to retire as soon as you can..
