How long had you been at 60 mg? Do you have GCA? I hope you get some answers and are feeling better soon.

Nasty - your're the second person I have heard of having a steroid induced psychosis. The other was reduced rather less precipitately though!

Not surprised the pharmacist objected but I imagine the rheumy is working on the assumption that you are well above the level required for replacing adrenal function.

Hope it all works out OK - I'm assuming you were on 60mg for GCA. Do keep us informed.

Diagnosed with GCA mid Sept, 18 days of 60mg then reduced to 15mg.

Attended A&E Dept on Saturday afternoon and waited 5 hours to be seen.

They misdiagnosed me, sent me away with paracetamol said it was neuralgia, advised to see GP on the Monday!

A&E Dr phoned and left messg Sunday night ESR test levels high..

Needless to say My local A&E Dept Not Fit For Purpose...

It isn't an excuse - but GCA really is rare and most junior A&E doctors won't ever have seen it - they won't have done enough rheumatology. In Yorkshire the paramedics are taught to recognise the possibility.

Hope things improve quickly.
