Hi I am new on the site even though have been following this site for a few years.HavePMR and GCA still on10mg /5mg on alternate days.

Have been on pred for 6 years for pmr and gca starting on 40mg been up and down .Now on 10mg one day 5mg next day.

My rheumy favours this approach on this till Sept.Has any one

else been put on this dose.

It seems an unnecessary yoyo-ing of a dose that the body has to cope with but if it works, fair enough. Personally I'd want 1mg tablets so I could reduce in far smaller steps - and that is what most of us here do. I also know that Prof Dasgupta in the UK favours a much smaller variation from about 8mg down, telling patients to take 8/8/7 repeated for a month, progressing to 8/7/7 and finally 7/7/7.
