As if there wasn't enough going on, last night my silly numb feet meant that I lost my balance and fell down. I hit the patio door and the key sliced right into the top of my head! Blood everywhere and mega pain. I was home alone so couldn't get to hospital and didn't feel it warranted an ambulance on a Saturday night! Went to casualty today where they cleaned my head and stuck it together and said not to wash hair for 5 days!! Husband came home from Carol Concert and thought I had decided to colour my hair!! Very funny...not! Haven't slept at all so am pretty rough now. Had so much planned for this week, now I am told to take it easy and rest as much as possible. Am so cross with myself. Rant over!

Nasty fall
Oh poor you! Hope you soon feel better, its easy done though.
Unfortunately, you will have to put this week's plans on hold, and get plenty of rest -no point in trying to overdo things before Christmas.
If necessary up your Pred for a couple of days whilst your body is coming to terms with shock you gave it. Take care.
Ouch! No - I think that the ambulance might have been quite happy to have a bit of pleasant relief - although you might have had rather a wait. They do prefer your sort of patient!
My neighbour did something a bit similar on a Sunday afternoon. They'd finished lunch and she picked up a pile of ironing she'd folded to take to the utility room. The TV was on and she stopped to lean on the quite high back of their sofa to look at something interesting and dozed off! She tumbled backwards and caught the back of her head on the corner of the wall behind her. Like you, blood everywhere - scalps have a very good blood supply! Her husband couldn't get it to stop and they couldn't leave their Down syndrome daughter alone so I got a very sheepish phone call, could I run her to the hospital. David took us, it's only a 5 minute drive, and I went in with her. She too was glued together with a massive dressing, told to take it easy and not wash it for a week - she has a shop so appeared the next day with a very impressive turban to hid the damage.
So you aren't alone in being the victim of a silly accident - get well soon!
Hi
Sounds really scarier things always seem to happen when we don't want them to
Take it easy and rest
hope you feel better soon
Best Wishes Rose
Dear Content1..please rest and take care. This happened to me just before Christmas last year but I fell full on my face in my kitchen ,and my nose took a lot of the brunt of it but my whole face looked like i had been in a Boxing Ring .The shock of the fall lasts for days and I am still nervous. I had an appointment for blood tests next day and got checked over by my GP ..I was told to up my steroids for a few days which I did .
Thinking of you and just put those jobs to one side . trish 29
I has fall on my bum in August at avery posh wedding hadn't even had a drink managed to stay the evening
But i paid for it tried to managed without putting up the PED didn't work needed to up it the next week
so take care of yourself
So sorry. Do take care and time; the Christmas list will sort itself out eventually but most important is that you recover fully. I was knocked down by a cyclist on a pedestrian crossing about six weeks ago and have only just recovered. These knocks and falls hit us harder than others and we have to take that into account.
A trichologist once told me that we wash our hair far too frequently so it will probably be a good treatment for your hair, even if it doesn't feel like it.
Awww hope you feel better really soon. Similar thing happened to me 3 weeks ago when I was up a ladder painting the bathroom ceiling, lost my footing on the ladder and came crashing down in the bath with a full tray of white paint over me, got out the bath looking like Jasper the ghost!!! Lucky no broken bone just hurt pride along with hip and gash on shin, felt sick for the rest of the day but had to still clear it up as home alone like you, hubby was working in Belfast, that'll teach me to try and surprise him, my bruises certainally did lol X
Oh you poor thing, sounds awful. I don't think I would trust my feet to go up a ladder anymore! I keep finding new bruises too!
