Success at Fire and Ice Cabaret Ball

We had another very successful 11th Fire and Ice Cabaret Ball on Saturday evening/ early Sunday morning which was attended by PMR-GCA NE Support Group. There were over 300 guests at Ramside Hall Hotel (Durham) and the main objective for fun and entertainment was achieved. Oh, we also raised £6,000 for charity of which PMR-GCA NE will benefit. We have now raised and donated £99,000 in the last 11 years! Still in remission on 4.5mg but working with Polymyalgia and dreaming of future marathons and mountains. "Running free with a smile" :-)

Well done, and looked like lots of fun. Good luck with future running projects.

Thank you sara4 - it was a wonderful evening but a lot of hard work goes into the event for several months beforehand as we have real fires, Scottish Pipers, Big Red American Truck, cascading waterfall lights, red carpet entrance and ice cold alcoholic reception drinks ... and that's all before we start. During the event apart from the dinner we had magicians, live band, professional compère, male vocalist, magical moments plus the DJ after midnight! We will be arranging a 12th Fire and Ice Cabaret Ball next year with the theme "Twelfth Night". Not bad for someone with PMR in remission on a steroid reduction programme but it's so lovely to see all those people have a wonderful time. Roll on next year x
