Hi Annihami

Yes I get pain in feet - feels as though the bones are being squeezed but not cramp. I also have swelling on top of the foot and my ankles are swollen. My GP said it was a side effect of the steroids (am on 4mgs daily). My Feet also bruise very easily. All he recommended was to rest and if possible to elevate feet when resting.

Hello yes I also get pains in my feet, sometimes it's worse in one foot only, my foot and ankle swell to twice it's normal size on ankle and instep can't get any shoes on this week, raising your feet does ease it a bit, but also need to move about now and again, to keep blood moving, it's not good to sit still for long periods, it does pass, but in my case usually moves to another area, like my shins, hope your feeling a little better today, stay positive, best wishes,,Jan

I've had a lot of trouble with my feet and achillies tendons. I developed heel spurs and even got severe cramp in one big toe! I have found that gentle stretching exercises help and through a long process of trial and error that good shoes with an arch support are essential. I went to a podiatrist and had special inserts made, they fit into my normal shoes, they make such a difference I can't do without them. PMR is such a strange condition, I never know where the pain will move to next. Regards Veronica.

Yes, though my pain and swelling is on and around the Achilles tendons on both feet. It is at its worst when I get up in the morning but tends to ease a bit if I walk, though the decision to do so is in itself agonising. After walking the pain comes back. Can't win!

Mine also gets worse after too much walking but we have to walk, so you're right, we can't win! it's a case of getting the balance right.
